Parklands is designed around trails, woodland paths, parks and ponds, so residents can step out for a walk without getting in the car, while shopping, schools and transit are close by. Peterborough itself is the main hub of the Kawarthas, home to Trent University, Fleming College, Peterborough Regional Health Centre and a lively downtown along George and Water Streets, with the Otonabee River, the Trent-Severn Waterway and the Lift Lock for recreation. Highway 115 connects to Highway 401 and Highway 407 for trips to Durham Region and Toronto. Rooftop-terrace towns are a newer product for the Peterborough market and should suit first-time buyers, downsizers and professionals who want low-maintenance freehold living.
